Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament- Opportunities are available for parishioners to sign up for a weekly hour of adoration before the Blessed Sacrament in the Basilcia of St. Francis Xavier. Individuals, married couples and families are involved in this tradition at the Spires of Faith Cluster. We invite you to participate.
The Spires offers parishioners a structured opportunity to pray in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament exposed on the altar. Contact us to sign up for a hour or just stop in to Basilica during hours of Adoration for a visit!
Pope Benedict XVI spoke on the greatness of adoring the Eucharist both in and outside of the Mass when he wrote, “Receiving the Eucharist means adoring him who we receive, only in this way do we become one with him, and are given, as it were, a foretaste of the beauty of the heavenly liturgy. Indeed, ‘only in adoration can a profound and genuine reception mature. And it is precisely this personal encounter with the Lord that then strengthens the social mission contained in the Eucharist, which seeks to breakdown not only the walls that separate the Lord and ourselves, but also and especially the walls that separate us from one another” (Sacramentum Caritatis).
