Serving as a liturgical minister is a great way to serve your parish and enhance your experience at Mass! There are a variety of roles for you to step forward into and volunteer to assist in our worship. Training in each ministry is provided frequently and new members are always welcome! Once you have been trained, you will then be commissioned as a minister so that you can reverently and devoutly perform the functions assigned to you for the good of Christ’s faithful.

If you are interested in learning more about any or all of these ministries, feel free to call your parish office for more information.

Training is provided twice a year: once in January/February and then again at the beginning of the school year.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist the priest and deacon with the distribution of the Eucharist at Mass, as well as bring Holy Communion to the sick and homebound. All confirmed adults are encouraged to contact the parish office about the next training session.

The reader, or lector, proclaims the Word of God at Masses on Sundays and throughout the week. Any adult in high school or beyond is encouraged to contact the parish office.

The sacristan provides an invaluable service by preparing the sacred vessels before Mass, as well as preparing the books and other liturgical items in the sacristy.  After Mass, the sacristan is then ensures that things are put away safely. In addition to Masses, sacristans are many times asked to serve at Weddings and Funerals too.  This ministry is open to any adult Catholic.

Ushers & Greeters

Ushers and greeters assist the assembly on weekends and holy days, by greeting people at the door before Mass and welcoming them to the liturgy and to our community. Any one is welcome to greet, even entire families!  Ushers also help to seat people in need, handle collections during the offertory, hand out bulletins after Mass, and make sure that pews remain tidy. If interested, please contact your parish office.

Liturgy Committee

This team is responsible for decorating the church for the seasons, keeping the flowers watered and overall environment of the liturgical space.  Open to any adult who has decorating ideas or would like to help with flowers.  Ability to attend occasional meetings is helpful. Please contact your parish office for more information.
