Holy Orders
The Sacrament of Holy Orders conforms men more closely to the ministerial priesthood of Jesus Christ, for service to and the building up of his holy Church. God calls men to this sacrament just as He calls each person to their own particular vocation in the Church.
If you would like to discuss a call to the priesthood or the permanent diaconate, or just talk about discerning God's will in your life, feel free to contact the parish office and talk with a priest. If you are thinking about the priesthood, feel free also to contact the Vocation Director of the Archdiocese of Dubuque, Fr. David Schatz, or visit https://dbqarch.org/vocations; if you are thinking about the permanent diaconate, contact Deacon John Stierman, Director of the Permanent Diaconate for the Archdiocese, or visit www.dbqarch.org/offices/permanent-diaconate/.
There are also many opportunities throughout the Archdiocese to pray for, discern, and discuss vocations to the priesthood and diaconate. Check them out here, at www.dbqarch.org/offices/vocations/.
